I am Jan Jacob
I was born in Dendermonde and already as a toddler I got impressed by my grandparents stories about “the war”.
It must have been written in the stars that history would become my biggest passion.

Being an epicurean and art lover I graduated as historian at the University of Leuven in 2000.
I travelled around the world for a while
And then I devoted 15 years to our family business in Lebbeke.
The local theater group called "We" was my second home.
​
Even though my life was very pleasant
love shook me thoroughly.
My Spanish partner and his native country are inseparable
And soon I became fascinated too.
Steadily I got to know Madrid and the other pearls of the Iberian peninsula.
I learned Spanish and began to immerse myself in the country’s rich culture.

Moving to Madrid and Seville was a logical consequence.
During our walks through the charming cities, I want to share my knowledge and experiences with you.

I am a Dutch/English speaking guide in the Mezquita Catedral of Córdoba, the Cathedral and the Alcazar of Seville, the Royal Palace and the Prado in Madrid, El Escorial and the picturesque town of Segovia. I also organize mountain hikes in the Sierra de Guadarrama and tours along the impressive Guadalquivir.
